Çekmeköy Municipality Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar International Science Olympics

Producing innovative projects is presented among the international requirements and necessities to increase the young generation’s interest towards science and to endure the continuity of technological rise in this day with the technology has rapidly spread among the individuals and renovation and development processes has become shorter.

Services supporting scientific development and production activities are carried out in our country in order to have our young people involved in educational, scientific, artistic and cultural activities in their leisure times and to support services contributing to production activities.

Cekmekoy Municipality organizes a Science Olympics renewed every period, to contribute to the international high school level interaction in order to increase the efficiency of our county as well as complying with the vision of our country.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

Supporting International High School Level Interaction
Contributing to the interaction with Turkish Abroad and Related Communities
Increasing the interest of our young people in science,culture and art.
Popularizing and generalizing the innovative culture among the young population can be shown among the main objectives of our project.

PROJECT REASON

Cekmekoy Municipality has created and implemented projects compliant with the vision of our country in order to grow a new generation which would me more effective in the international arena where the employment would develop and innovative Technologies would dominate. For these reasons, the Municipality is planning to realize an International Science Olympics in order to make the following stated reasons real based on the idea and vision of an Innovative and Productive Youth and Productive New Generations.

Innovative and creative economy producing high added-value that have a say in the global economy. Equitable and inclusionary society sharing fair and learning fast, Innovative Youth and Growing and Developing Turkey

It is required increasing the effectiveness of young population,supporting projects and development of products which will create high added-value in order to achieve the determined objectives. Our Municipality will organize a Science Olympics in the first steppf achieving the objectives of the Municipality within that context where international young generation will find an environment to interact with each other. Scientific Innovation Competition will be organized in three different categories within the scope of the festivalin order to achieve our objectives.

Employment creation, improving quality of employment and reducing unemployment are of great importance in Istanbul with a higher level of unemployment when compared to nationwide. It will be held an Online International Student Workshop meeting consisted of 16 repetitions within the scope of the organization in order to create healthy strategies based on the awareness of knock-on effect that extends to growth, investment and production increase through the effects of employment on economic, social and political stability. It is considered and expected that those meetings will make an impact on the interest of young population and strong workforce potential that would be created in the future.

Justified the organization planned in this context and scope in line with the objectives determined.

PROJECT PRESENTATION

The project by the name of “Cekmekoy Municipality Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar International Science Olympics” prepared by Cekmekoy Municipality aims to create and provide opportunity to young people in high school level to develop themselves as young people who

know and can understand, interpret and produce science and to support and contribute to scientific projects which they have produced or want to produce in the future. Our young people will see how other people look to science in other countries and their horizons of life will expand by the contribution of our project to which many high school students from many

countries of the world will participate in. Students will present their projects to our exclusive and distinguished jurymen and jurywomen in Cekmekoy Municipality Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar International Science Olympics. The successful projects will be supported by Cekmekoy Municipality as well as private sector in order to make real every project elected in the top 100 projects.
