ÇEKMEKÖY BELEDİYESİ

Çekmeköy is a town on the Anatolian side of Istanbul. Çekmeköy was one of the districts that was under the Ümraniye Municipal administration. It became one of the new counties of Istanbul during the election of March 29 2009. When Çekmeköy was getting the status of being county it also got its border districts Ömerli, Alemdağ and Taşdelen. Çekmeköy became a mega county including 17 districs and 4 villages. Çekmeköy located on Keçiağlı Hillside which is located in Alemdağ forest on Asian side of the city. County is 100 meters above the sea level and it has 48, 08 kilometer square (14.800 hectare) territory. The population is 183.13 according to 2011 population census. It is surrounded by Beykoz on northwest, Şile on northeast, Ümraniye on southwest and Sancaktepe on southeast.
